Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure that supplier‑provided components meet TE’s stringent quality standards. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you will drive corrective actions, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement across the automotive supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and audits of materials, processes and products to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Respond promptly to customer complaints, organize containment actions, and develop 8D reports with root‑cause analysis and charge‑back recommendations.
• Evaluate and validate 8D reports submitted by suppliers and disseminate lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
• Review internal and external complaints related to supplier products/processes, verify corrective and preventive actions.
• Define, train, and track continuous‑improvement initiatives (TPM, 5S+1, OPL) for assigned suppliers.
• Coordinate supplier production process releases in liaison with Product, Transfer and APQP Engineering.
• Perform quarterly supplier performance reviews and maintain scorecards.
• Drive a zero‑defect approach at supplier sites and support onboarding of new suppliers per TE requirements.
• Participate in supplier audits (VDA, ISO/TS 16949) and assess production processes (R@R, SLP).
• Travel to supplier locations as required and produce regular reports and data analyses.

Required profile

• Engineering degree.
• 2‑3 years experience in supplier quality or quality assurance, preferably in electronics or molding.
• Familiarity with electronics, molding and assembly processes.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards.
