Terminal Planner – Integrated Operations Centre

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking a Terminal Planner to join its Integrated Operations Centre. The role involves planning and coordinating vessel and yard operations, ensuring efficient cargo handling and compliance with safety standards. You will work closely with shipping lines, liner operations, and global stowage planners to optimise terminal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate vessel operations, delivering accurate cargo control, vessel‑related EDIs, load lists and planning documentation on time.
• Collaborate with shipping lines, liner operations teams and global stowage planners to resolve discrepancies and support safe, efficient vessel movements.
• Prepare and communicate load and discharge sequences while keeping terminal systems updated with operational information.
• Monitor vessel stability, safety compliance and operational performance throughout execution.
• Execute yard‑planning strategies through container decking, terminal operating system configuration and inventory management.
• Develop contingency plans to minimise unproductive moves and maintain continuity during exceptions or disruptions.
• Monitor yard integrity, equipment utilisation and operational metrics while driving continuous improvement across terminal operations.

Required profile

• Continuous‑improvement mindset, curious about work processes and motivated to implement sustainable enhancements.
• Master’s degree or Engineering degree in IT, Mechanical, Automation, Civil, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in a planning, operations or logistics‑related role.
• Strong planning, organisational and analytical abilities to identify solutions and respond to operational exceptions.
