Model-Based Design Engineer

About the role

IAV Morocco is seeking a Model-Based Design Engineer to join its automotive embedded systems team in Casablanca. You will work on the development of advanced control algorithms and embedded software for next‑generation mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Support simulation, validation, and integration of models into embedded targets.
• Design and maintain software interfaces following standardized methodologies.
• Create and maintain test harnesses for new features.
• Contribute to system integration across electrical, electronic, and mechanical domains.
• Participate in project milestones, technical discussions, and reviews.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Model‑Based Design Engineer.
• Experience in automotive embedded software development or system architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• English and French language proficiency at minimum B2 level.

Required skills

• Model‑Based Design (MBD) methodologies.
• MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, data dictionaries, variant management.
• Automatic code generation (Embedded Coder / Simulink Coder).
• MIL, SIL, and HIL testing.
• Simulink Test, Simulink Coverage, Simulink Check.
• Requirements traceability within MBD workflows.
• Fixed‑point design and optimization.
• Vehicle communication networks (CAN).
• Version control tools (Git).
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) is a plus.
