Postdoctoral Researcher in Membrane and Electrode Technologies

About the role

The Centre for Advanced Energy Research (ACER) at UM6P seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance membrane and electrode technologies for battery and fuel‑cell systems. The role focuses on developing high‑performance membranes, integrating them into functional electrodes or electrolytes, and evaluating their performance in fuel‑cell and battery tests.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research on membranes and polymer electrolytes for batteries and fuel cells.
• Synthesize and process suitable membranes, optimize their shaping into electrodes or electrolytes.
• Characterize membranes using physicochemical, structural, morphological, and electrochemical techniques.
• Integrate polymer electrolyte membranes with catalytic electrodes to develop membrane‑electrode assemblies.
• Perform electrochemical testing of fuel cells and batteries under controlled conditions.
• Analyze results, prepare reports, and draft scientific publications and patents.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Energy Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in battery systems, fuel‑cell technologies, or electrochemical energy conversion.
• Demonstrated experience in membrane synthesis, processing, and characterization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
