Powertrain Expert - Electric Vehicles

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Powertrain Expert to strengthen its automotive engineering teams and support advanced Electric Vehicle (EV) projects. The role acts as a technical expert on EV powertrain systems and coordinates subsystems, project governance and supplier delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert on EV powertrain systems (electric motor, inverter, battery pack, reducer)
• Define and validate powertrain architecture and system integration
• Lead subsystem coordination, project governance and reporting at key milestones
• Manage suppliers and ensure delivery on cost, quality and timing
• Contribute to cost control (product cost, tooling, CAPEX) and change management
• Ensure alignment between subsystem and system-level objectives

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering
• Strong experience in automotive powertrain, focused on electric powertrain systems
• Structured mindset with strong leadership and coordination skills
• Fluent in English and French

Required skills

• Electric motors, inverters (400-800V), battery packs and system integration
• CATIA / NX and ANSYS
• Automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and LV 123/124
