Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

We are looking for a professional Receptionist to deliver exceptional guest services aboard a luxury cruise ship. The role involves managing the front‑desk operations, handling guest enquiries, and ensuring a smooth, memorable experience for travelers throughout their voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality guest service at the reception desk, responding promptly to requests, enquiries and complaints.
• Coordinate guest needs, including restaurant reservations, wake‑up calls, mail services, DVD/CD rentals and newspaper deliveries.
• Process financial transactions such as cash payments, traveller’s checks, foreign‑currency exchange and credit‑card operations, reconciling cash with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Maintain communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold moral integrity in all interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in guest‑facing or front‑desk roles within an international 5‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Strong administrative abilities, high attention to detail, and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Adaptable, self‑motivated, well‑organized and able to remain calm while handling multiple demands.

Required skills

• Basic accounting knowledge for cash handling and transaction reconciliation.
