Backend Engineer – Independent Contractor

About the role

nsave is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the core infrastructure that powers its fintech services. Working closely with the CTO and the engineering team, you will own critical backend subsystems that support thousands of users across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain service architecture, reliability, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate compliance and banking services into the platform.
• Identify and remediate weak points in code and infrastructure to improve system health.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver features for multiple markets.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and process improvements as the company scales.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with knowledge of clean architecture and layered abstractions.
• Broad understanding of backend architecture, databases, site reliability, and infrastructure as code.
• Security‑focused mindset for building robust financial systems.
• Ability to make technical decisions informed by product and business context.
• Experience working independently in fast‑moving environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in backend languages and frameworks suitable for scalable financial systems.
• Experience with platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD tools.
