Data Scientist Manager

About the role

Artefact, an international consulting firm deploying AI and data solutions, is looking for a Data Scientist Manager in Casablanca. The role drives ambitious projects that turn client data into business results, working alongside the core Data Science and ML Engineering team and with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the feasibility of use cases, turning business challenges into technical formulations
• Define business and statistical hypotheses, build and test solutions, and help deliver production-ready ones
• Propose suitable AI or machine learning approaches and advise on the best algorithm for each context
• Design data visualisation features to generate insights and support data storytelling
• Iterate with the business in an agile way to maximise business impact
• Build, maintain and troubleshoot data models: assess data quality, clean and aggregate it, choose algorithms, train models, follow MLOps principles and fix issues in production

Required profile

• At least 6 years of prior data science experience
• Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Advanced Statistics, Data Science or a related discipline
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent English; French also required
• Preferred: experience in consulting or marketing data science, marketing analytics or e-commerce, and a customer-centric mindset

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of data science algorithms and at least one proven experience developing statistical and ML algorithms
• Proficiency in Python (preferred) and/or R
• Preferred: causal inference, time series, advanced statistics, cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)

The process involves three interviews: HR, oral business case and fit. Artefact is described as a team of entrepreneurs focused on data and AI adoption.
