Deputy Project Manager (Onshore)

About the role

As a Deputy Project Manager (Onshore) you act as the second‑in‑command for a rail transportation project, supporting the Project Manager and ensuring continuity of leadership. You will help deliver project objectives on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining the project plan (scope, schedule, cost).
• Monitor progress, milestones, and deliverables; support corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Act as backup for the Project Manager and take over coordination, decision follow‑up, and reporting when needed.
• Prepare and facilitate project meetings, ensure proper information flow across all interfaces.
• Produce project reports (progress, risks, KPIs) and maintain documentation such as plans, action lists, minutes, and deliverables.
• Track actions, maintain the risk register, and support escalation processes.
• Support resource planning, workload follow‑up, budget monitoring, and schedule adherence.
• Assist in contract and change management, ensuring deliverables meet contractual and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with offshore PMO, consolidate onshore inputs, and ensure consistent application of project management standards.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage customer and partner relationships.
• Leadership capabilities, structured thinking, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to coordinate onshore and offshore activities and ensure alignment with project governance.
