Flight Operations Engineer

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a Flight Operations Engineer to act as the bridge between its R&D lab and operational field deployments. You will be responsible for delivering the final validation of autonomous defense systems, demonstrating capabilities to global partners, and training end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute real‑world test campaigns to validate performance, reliability, and edge‑case behavior of new hardware and software releases.
• Lead high‑stakes live flight demonstrations for defense stakeholders in diverse environments.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs covering flight theory, autonomous mission planning, and emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams to debug, iterate, and integrate feedback from test outcomes.
• Manage deployment logistics, including command‑and‑control (C2) infrastructure and RF data‑link integration, to ensure 100% mission readiness.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in flight operations, flight testing, or validation on aerospace, robotic, or embedded systems.
• Proven track record assembling, integrating, and maintaining high‑performance FPV multicopters and/or fixed‑wing platforms.
• Strong background in flight dynamics, control systems, avionics, and RF systems.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent documentation, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a dynamic schedule.
