General Manager – North Africa & Levant

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a General Manager to lead sales and commercial activities across North Africa and the Levant. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive growth, oversee country managers, and ensure the airline meets its revenue targets in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and align sales strategy with Etihad’s global objectives and market trends.
• Develop, monitor and adjust sales plans to achieve regional revenue targets.
• Set area sales targets, select appropriate channels and manage intermediary relationships.
• Lead and coordinate a team of country and sales managers to meet agreed targets.
• Design and implement sales‑and‑marketing initiatives that support key revenue goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, and governmental authorities.
• Negotiate contracts and joint ventures with partners to expand commercial reach.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and Etihad’s commercial policies.
• Monitor KPIs, identify improvement areas and propose corrective actions.
• Lead top‑to‑top meetings with strategic customers and oversee sales incentive programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in airline, GDS, or large travel corporation environments.
• Proven experience managing country or regional sales teams.
• Experience with major or regional airlines and commercial aviation training (e.g., IATA).

Required skills

• IATA certification or equivalent aviation training.
• Knowledge of GDS systems and airline sales processes.
• Strong contract negotiation and KPI monitoring abilities.
