Harness Application Engineer – Automotive Wiring Systems

About the role
The Harness Application Engineer will lead the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications. You will work across the product lifecycle to optimise design, improve functionality and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct value analysis and value engineering to optimise product design.
- Design wiring harnesses using CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Siemens NX.
- Manage design changes, generate and release engineering drawings, schematics and charts.
- Participate in concept design, prototyping, testing and validation phases.
- Use PLM software to manage product data, documentation and revisions.
- Maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and coordinate updates with teams and suppliers.
Required profile
- B.Sc or M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering with automotive experience.
- Experience in technical customer meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements and quality procedures.
