Setup Man – Injection Molding Technician

About the role

The Setup Man works on the shop floor to prepare, operate and maintain thermoplastic injection molding equipment. You will ensure smooth production runs, perform mold changeovers and support quality inspections in a safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor a bank of thermoplastic injection molding machines and adjust settings as needed.
• Perform mold changeovers, move old molds to storage, and record setup parameters.
• Start, restart, and shut down presses according to production schedules.
• Complete process sheets, TTC data, mold history, and report‑card entries.
• Conduct visual inspections of molded parts using microscopes, gauges and measuring tools.
• Carry out raw‑material moisture checks and verify correct packaging and labeling.
• Execute TPM walk‑arounds and maintain 5S+1 housekeeping standards.
• Monitor water lines for leaks and record process control data.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required); two‑year technical degree in plastics or mechanical discipline preferred.
• Approved training or experience in an injection molding environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, integrity and continuous improvement.
