Setup Man – Machine Tool Setup & Prototype Fabrication

About the role

We are looking for a Setup Man to join TE’s engineering team. The role involves setting up, fabricating, assembling, maintaining and testing machine tools and equipment used for experimental projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure prototypes are built to specification and ready for testing.

Key responsibilities

• Set up machine tools and equipment according to established machining procedures.
• Fabricate and assemble prototype components following design specifications.
• Perform quality checks on finished products, document defects and investigate root causes.
• Interpret blueprints and design documents to develop prototype models and create toolpaths.
• Monitor preventive maintenance, calibrate machines and ensure routine service compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in machining, prototype fabrication or similar industrial settings.
• High school diploma required; vocational training or an AA degree preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
