Steward

About the role

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the hotel’s kitchen and dining areas. Working in a luxury environment, the role supports the culinary team by ensuring all serviceware and equipment are ready for use at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Load, operate, and unload the dishwashing machine to clean and sanitize china, glass, and silverware.
• Clean and sanitize ovens, steam kettles, mixers, kitchen drains, sinks, floors, and walls.
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen production areas, pastry shop, and hallways through sweeping, mopping, polishing, scrubbing, washing, stripping, and buffing.
• Sanitize pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using appropriate cleaning and rinsing solutions.
• Set up, operate, and maintain the silver‑burnishing machine to polish, sort, and transport silver items safely.
• Store cleaned dishware, glassware, and silverware in their proper locations.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑standards hospitality environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to food‑safety and sanitation standards.
• Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and repetitive motions.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals correctly.
