Yard Supervisor

About the role

The Yard Supervisor oversees daily yard operations at a Copart facility, ensuring smooth vehicle handling, safety, and exceptional customer service. Reporting to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Yard Manager, this role supports staff and maintains a high‑performing work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly audits of yard activities.
• Schedule employee shifts, track time and attendance.
• Assist security and loss‑prevention efforts.
• Monitor productivity and enforce safety awareness.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Oversee vehicle loading and manage fleet maintenance.
• Handle employee and customer service issues.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and purchase as needed.
• Enforce company policies, travel when required, and answer alarm calls.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of supervisory or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma; some college education preferred.
• Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics.
• Excellent customer‑service attitude and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Suite).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and train team members.
• Fluent written and spoken English; bilingual a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work occasional overtime.
