AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic (Level 2)

About the role

The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic (AM-2) performs maintenance and inspections on AH-64 systems in line with FAA standards, carrying out the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance. The role includes repair, assembly and modification of Army and other DoD aircraft systems, and directing lower-graded mechanics.

Key responsibilities

• Install, connect and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine and transmission, and install fuselage parts, tail rotor assemblies and flight control systems.
• Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
• Perform operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power and ground equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot malfunctions, disassemble to the point of trouble and repair, realign or replace defective parts.
• Direct lower-graded mechanics in assembly, modification and checkout of the aircraft and coordinate with general mechanics and sheet metal workers.
• Prepare maintenance forms and records, and carry out additional duties as required.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Five or more years of aviation maintenance experience on the AH-64, preferably within the last five years.
• NAC-I T1 Public Trust clearance; US citizenship required for facility credentials, and a valid passport for deployment to Morocco.
• Medical and vaccination requirements apply, coordinated through the recruiter.

Required skills

• Good communication skills and adaptability, with the ability to troubleshoot entire aircraft systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems principles.
• Ability to read, apply and interpret technical data, and to know when repairs or part replacement are needed.
• Knowledge of quality control, production and supply procedures.
• Physical ability to stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, work in a noisy, drafty shop and wear PPE; respirator fit test required.
