AI Endpoint Engineering Team Lead

About the role

A first-stage management role for an AI Endpoint Engineering Team Lead who owns execution for a small team building and operating a digital workplace as an AI-enabled platform. The team designs endpoint management, identity-adjacent experiences and automation systems that prevent issues before they become tickets. The lead stays hands-on with the endpoint stack while owning delivery, making key technical decisions and developing the engineers they lead.

Key responsibilities

• Write automation scripts, review MDM policy configurations and build AI-assisted diagnostic workflows
• Own technical decisions for device lifecycle, endpoint baselines, identity-adjacent automation and self-service experiences
• Lead a small team (typically 3-5 engineers) on device configuration standards, automated remediation, self-service workflows and AI-assisted support systems
• Break down work, manage scope, track progress, unblock engineers and ensure shipped automation is adopted
• Coordinate with Security, Infrastructure and Identity partners on priorities and trade-offs
• Set quality standards: secure-by-default configurations, reliable automation, clear documentation and measurable ticket reduction
• Promote AI-assisted diagnostics and remediation, maintain runbooks, alert quality and on-call health, and drive operational hygiene
• Manage direct reports through 1:1s, feedback and career development, coach engineers, participate in hiring and address performance issues

Required profile

• Ability to do the work yourself, with strong hands-on experience of the endpoint and digital workplace stack
• Experience leading small teams or acting as a technical lead with delivery accountability
• Track record of shipping endpoint or automation work predictably, and of developing other engineers
• Comfort making technical decisions and owning outcomes, including operational consequences
• Clear communication with Security, Infrastructure and business stakeholders

Required skills

• MDM platforms at production scale, Intune and/or Jamf, including policy management, compliance enforcement and device lifecycle automation
• Windows and macOS: Autopilot, DEP/ADE, OS hardening, application deployment and configuration management
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting, able to write production-quality scripts
• Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access and identity-adjacent automation
• Building and operating AI-assisted diagnostic and self-service tooling that reduces ticket volume
• Preferred: ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management, SOC 2 or ISO 27001, PAM, application control or endpoint detection tools
