Baker – Cruise Ship (International 5‑Star)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Baker to join the culinary team aboard Silversea cruise vessels. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality breads, pastries and specialty baked goods while upholding strict public‑health standards and ensuring total guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries and other baked items according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Plan, requisition and manage bakery ingredients and supplies, maintaining appropriate stock levels.
• Maintain product consistency, minimize waste and control food costs.
• Produce specialty items, buffet decorations and dietary‑restricted baked goods.
• Support guest chef programs, cooking demonstrations and themed events.
• Ensure proper food storage, handling, temperature monitoring and inventory control in line with health regulations.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized and fully operational; perform equipment maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Assist with inventory counts, equipment accountability and waste disposal procedures.
• Train and mentor new team members and communicate operational issues promptly.

Required profile

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Minimum 4 years experience as a baker in an international 5‑star hotel or cruise environment.
• Proficiency in European baking techniques.
• Strong knowledge of public‑health policies and food‑safety regulations.
• Physically and medically fit with high moral integrity.
• Fluent English (verbal and written) – the working and safety language on board.
