Camp and Research Coordinator (Tazekka National Park)

About the role

We are seeking a Camp and Research Coordinator to lead the post‑release monitoring of Barbary macaques in Tazekka National Park, Morocco. The role combines field camp management with behavioural and telemetry research, supporting a multinational team and mentoring students and local staff.

Key responsibilities

• Collect behavioural data using Cybertracker software.
• Track GPS‑collared macaques and process movement data.
• Mentor incoming students, research assistants and volunteers.
• Coordinate camp and equipment maintenance with park officials.
• Prepare and deliver reports to the international monitoring team through online and in‑person meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc (preferably MSc) in biology, conservation, wildlife management or a related field.
• Fluent in English and/or French, ideally both.
• Previous primate or wildlife field experience, especially behavioural observation and telemetry.
• Physically fit for mountainous terrain, steep climbs and extreme weather.
• Experience mentoring students/volunteers and guiding local eco‑guards in a multicultural setting.
• Comfortable with basic equipment maintenance and handling unexpected field issues.
• Valid Moroccan driving licence; off‑road driving experience is a plus.
