Chef de Partie - Rabat Marriott Hotel

About the role

The Rabat Marriott Hotel is looking for a full-time Chef de Partie (non-management position) in its food and beverage kitchen. The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, maintaining food quality and supporting the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish of food
• Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess food for daily specials
• Inform food and beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline and motivation of staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training
• Keep a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and anticipate guests' service needs

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds
