Director, Regulated Programmes

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to head its Regulated Programmes function worldwide. Reporting to the Director of Quality and Impact, you will oversee medical and construction risk management, ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery of programmes across all country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the global Regulated Programmes team, setting priorities and fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Develop and implement risk‑management strategies for medical and construction activities, maintaining robust risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Lead medical incident management, coordinate escalations with senior leadership, audit committees, donors and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements, including SCI licences for MHRA, WDA(H) and Home Office controlled drugs.
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety and governance across all regulated programmes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme quality, risk management and regulatory compliance within an international NGO or similar environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple teams and direct reports at senior level.
• Strong understanding of medical and construction regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with donors, regulators and senior leadership.
