Field Deployment Engineer Lead

About the role

As the Field Deployment Engineer Lead at Harmattan AI, you will be the senior technical authority on‑site, responsible for delivering advanced defense systems from initial survey through customer acceptance. You will guide a team of engineers, ensure flawless system functionality, and train customer personnel to achieve operational autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site deployment of hardware units, ground infrastructure, and control software.
• Own end‑to‑end system functionality and act as the senior escalation point for technical issues.
• Manage and develop a team of Field Deployment Engineers, allocating tasks and ensuring quality execution.
• Oversee system configuration, testing, validation, and the acceptance process up to customer sign‑off.
• Deliver expert training to customer teams on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and integration problems; document and escalate unresolved blockers.
• Serve as the primary field liaison with engineering, programme, and product teams, feeding field insights back to product development.
• Produce rigorous deployment, acceptance, and training documentation and maintain structured records of site configurations and issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in field deployment, systems integration, or technical commissioning of enterprise‑grade or complex electronic systems.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers in field or operational environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with hardware and software integration, especially in complex sensing or control systems.
• Strong systems‑level understanding with the ability to troubleshoot across hardware, software, and connectivity layers.
• Demonstrated ability to train customer teams and drive operational readiness.
