Group M&A Project Lead

About the role

ECCBC is looking for a Group M&A Project Lead to join its Corporate Strategy & M&A team at Head Office, reporting to the Head of Group Mergers & Acquisitions. The role contributes to defining and executing the Group's corporate strategy and supports growth and portfolio expansion through mergers and acquisitions, with a clear focus on shareholder value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Corporate strategy and market analysis: support the corporate strategy plan, perform strategic assessments of market attractiveness, growth drivers, trends, risks and competition, collect and analyse market, industry and competitor information, and prepare structured materials and presentations for inorganic steering committees, decision forums and senior management.
• M&A pipeline and transaction execution: screen and assess potential acquisitions, mergers and partnerships, maintain the M&A pipeline, and manage relationships with M&A advisors, investment banks and intermediaries.
• Financial analysis, valuation and business case modelling, and coordination of due diligence workstreams for active transactions.
• Negotiate key transaction terms, including Letters of Intent and Share Purchase Agreements, and coordinate closing and handover to integration teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in project management within financial and/or operational environments.
• Previous consulting or investment banking experience is a plus.
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Operational financial knowledge, including P&L, working capital, debt projections and investments.
• Valuation and financial modelling.
• Understanding of the M&A transaction process and internal controlling and governance processes.
• Ability to coordinate due diligence workstreams.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

The position involves close collaboration with Finance, Legal & Tax, Operations, HR and Business Units, as well as external advisors, investment banks, consultants and target company management teams. About 20% travel is required.
