Hotel Director – Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

The Hotel Director leads all hotel‑related operations on a luxury cruise vessel, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and smooth crew performance. Reporting to senior ship management, the role combines strategic planning with day‑to‑day operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for multi‑outlet hotel operations.
• Ensure optimum guest satisfaction through welcoming service and efficient processes.
• Maintain Forbes 5‑star standards, train crew on requirements and prepare for inspections.
• Resolve onboard challenges (ATRI) and conduct daily inspiring morning meetings.
• Mentor department heads, identify training needs and support talent development.
• Participate in weekly public health inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Distribute NPS scores, financial data, Voyage Report and Deep Dive Analysis to stakeholders after each voyage.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of professional experience in luxury hotel operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Previous cruise line experience is an advantage.
• Fluent English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of multi‑outlet hotel operations and luxury service standards.
• Experience with Forbes 5‑star inspection criteria.
• Ability to analyse NPS, financial data and produce detailed reports.
• Leadership, coaching and problem‑solving abilities.
