Instructional Technologist

About the role

The Instructional Technologist works directly with faculty to design, build, and deliver online courses and classroom materials. The role involves selecting appropriate media, advising on multimedia production, and ensuring effective use of educational technologies across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Run and maintain educational platforms, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Administer and support CTL servers on Windows and Linux environments.
• Develop instructional training materials and documentation.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to create online courses and instructional resources.
• Provide technical support and training workshops for faculty using IT applications and platforms.
• Advise on multimedia production, including content acquisition, authoring, animation, and graphics.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot software, hardware, and peripherals for the CTL.
• Recommend and evaluate new hardware, software, and emerging technologies, including AI tools for teaching and learning.

Required profile

• Minimum Baccalaureate plus two years of IT study or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience with educational technologies.
• Experience working with faculty or instructional designers is preferred.
• Ability to acquire and update technical skills as needed.
