Interim Head of Partnerships, EMEA (excluding UK) – 12‑month maternity cover

About the role

The Interim Head of Partnerships for EMEA (excluding the UK) will lead the Foundation’s partnership strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for a 12‑month maternity cover. The role focuses on expanding relationships in Spain, developing insights and networks in Africa, and serving as a point of contact for the Middle East. Reporting to the Chief Partnerships Officer, the position is part of the Global Partnerships Team and drives sustainable collaborations that advance the Foundation’s mission to provide high‑quality digital education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Foundation’s partnership and programme work across EMEA (excluding the UK), with priority on Spain and emerging opportunities in Africa.
• Maintain and grow relationships with governments, ministries of education, NGOs and other partners, representing the Foundation in partnership discussions.
• Develop and execute country strategies, identify pilot programmes and collaborations, and oversee their delivery.
• Monitor the digital education landscape to flag emerging opportunities and risks.
• Work collaboratively with Education, Product, Marketing, Commercial and Fundraising teams to ensure regional partnerships align with national priorities and strengthen the micro:bit ecosystem.
• Support funding conversations and drive existing commitments across the wider EMEA region.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading partnership strategies across multiple countries in the EMEA region.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government bodies, NGOs and education stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with experience delivering country‑level programmes and pilots.
• Strong collaborative skills to work across cross‑functional teams (Education, Product, Marketing, Commercial, Fundraising).
