IT Engineer - AS400 / BPCS Projects

About the role

SCE Chemicals, an industrial company active in the chemical and agricultural sectors, is looking for an experienced IT engineer with expertise in BPCS software. The engineer will develop projects on the ERP AS400 while ensuring the stability and security of the company's IT systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise IT projects, keeping them within deadlines and budgets
• Analyse user and customer needs, carry out functional and technical studies, draft technical documentation and assess risks
• Design, implement and maintain databases
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability between IT systems, chair project meetings, set objectives and deadlines, run tests, fix anomalies and validate deliverables
• Create and maintain documentation of systems, processes and computer code
• Interface with IT service providers, take part in technology watch and report to management, and help draft internal procedures

Required profile

• Degree in computer engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in systems migration; AS400 (BPCS) experience preferred
• Ability to plan, organise and execute IT projects
• Good communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
• Adaptability to new technologies and teamwork with IT professionals and cross-disciplinary teams

Required skills

• Programming languages such as RPG, COBOL, Java and C++
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Unix
