Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Equipment Technician ensures that all commercial kitchen appliances operate safely and efficiently. You will install, inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of equipment to keep kitchen operations running without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, gas and refrigeration faults and perform corrective repairs.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and equipment downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs and work reports.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with kitchen staff to minimise disruption.
• Identify and recommend replacement of worn or unsafe parts.
• Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns as needed.
• Use tools and personal protective equipment correctly and follow safety procedures.
• Assist with inventory management of spare parts and tools.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical or Refrigeration fields.
• Proven experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring, gas systems and refrigeration.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
