Mobile Core Network Engineer

About the role

Orange Business is seeking a Mobile Core Network Engineer to design and implement innovative core network solutions that strengthen our telecommunications infrastructure. You will work on 4G and 5G projects, ensuring seamless connectivity and high reliability for our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑level and low‑level technical solutions for client projects.
• Define implementation road‑maps for 4G and 5G core network deployments.
• Support deployment of mobile core solutions in lab, pre‑production, and production environments.
• Operate within a CI/CD framework, creating test scenarios, executing tests, and analysing end‑to‑end traces for 5G, VoLTE, and IoT.
• Provide ongoing production support and address operational issues.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of mobile network protocols, architectures, and interworking.
• Strong knowledge of LTE/5G architectures and 3GPP standards.
• Hands‑on experience with core network elements such as AMF, MME, SMF, SPGW‑C, UPF, and SPGW‑U.
• Proven track record of deploying and supporting mobile core solutions in operational environments.
• Familiarity with functional, performance, and end‑to‑end testing tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., GitLab).
• Experience with containerised core deployments in telco‑cloud platforms like Red Hat OpenShift.
• Knowledge of OSS/BSS, 4G/5G RAN concepts, IPv4/IPv6, routing, QoS, MPLS, VPN, and security measures.
• Ability to coordinate technical activities, manage suppliers, and meet tight deadlines.
