Nursery Agronomist – Bouknadel, Morocco

About the role

The Nursery Agronomist will work within Driscoll's Operations Department to grow high‑quality berry plants for growers, ensuring timely, full deliveries while advancing knowledge of our genetics and adding value across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the farming manager to implement best growing practices and achieve the highest agronomic standards.
• Innovate and adopt new growing techniques to improve plant quality.
• Conduct regular crop walks to monitor pests and diseases, applying sustainable control methods.
• Design and manage fertilizer programs for both substrate and soil production systems, coordinating with the irrigation specialist.
• Maintain technical records and ensure compliance with certification requirements.
• Support the Nursery manager in weekly planning and strategy development for each crop.
• Engage with growers to gather feedback on nursery service levels.
• Work closely with the Irrigation Specialist on nutrition and water management.

Required profile

• Pre‑Graduate or Master’s degree in Agronomic Engineering.
• 3–5 years of horticulture experience, preferably with berry crops.
• Experience with irrigation systems, substrate production, and hydroponic systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems preferred.
• Rubus long‑canes production experience considered an asset.
• Strong teamwork, communication (Portuguese and English), and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Customer‑oriented mindset, ability to work under pressure, and self‑starter attitude.
