Operations Team Leader (Social Infrastructure)

About the role

The Operations Team Leader (Social Infrastructure) will support the Country Operations Manager in developing and managing a portfolio of education, health, water & sanitation, and urban development projects. The role ensures projects are delivered within approved costs, timelines, and quality standards, contributing to the Bank’s socio‑economic development mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pipeline building by engaging with ministries, executing agencies, and development partners to identify bankable projects aligned with national priorities.
• Prepare and coordinate Project Concept Notes for inclusion in the Bank’s 3‑Year Work Programs and mobilize preparation facilities.
• Oversee project appraisals, ensuring comprehensive technical, economic, social, financial, procurement, institutional, and environmental analysis.
• Facilitate project approval processes, manage documentation, and communicate progress to the Board.
• Supervise Project Officers, provide technical oversight, and clear their tasks on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Contribute to the Bank’s strategic planning, analytical work, and programming for the social infrastructure sector.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑sector infrastructure projects, preferably in education, health, water & sanitation, or urban development.
• Strong understanding of project appraisal, risk mitigation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior management and lead junior staff.
