Patent Attorney – Casablanca

About the role

The firm is seeking a full‑time Patent Attorney to join its Casablanca office. The successful candidate will manage the end‑to‑end patent process for clients, from initial searches to prosecution and strategic advice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, file and prosecute patent applications in relevant jurisdictions.
• Conduct prior‑art searches and prepare patent specifications.
• Manage office actions and correspondence with IP offices.
• Advise clients on patentability, freedom‑to‑operate, infringement risks and portfolio strategy.
• Perform IP due diligence and support technology‑transfer and licensing transactions.
• Review and negotiate IP‑related agreements such as licensing, confidentiality and collaboration contracts.
• Collaborate with litigators on patent disputes and develop internal IP processes and templates.
• Stay updated on developments in patent law and relevant technical fields, contribute to client training and business‑development activities.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in patent law, including drafting, filing, prosecution and enforcement.
• Admission to practice law and eligibility to act as a patent attorney or agent before national or regional IP offices.
• Solid technical background in a science or engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical, chemical, biotechnology, computer science).
• Proven experience in prior‑art searching, patentability assessments, freedom‑to‑operate analyses and IP due diligence.
• Ability to draft and review IP contracts such as licensing, technology‑transfer and confidentiality agreements.
• Excellent legal research, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French proficiency is an advantage.
