Postdoc in Phosphate Fertilizer Formulation

About the role

The MAScIR foundation program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir, Morocco, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field. The postdoc will help advance research on new nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NP, PK and NPK) fertilizer formulas, developing highly efficient formulas based on triple superphosphate as the mineral fraction. The role involves laboratory and field experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and formulate new simple and complex fertilizer formulas.
• Characterize the produced formulas using physicochemical and analytical tools such as spectroscopy, microscopy and porosity analysis to assess structure-property relationships.
• Evaluate the formulas in laboratory and greenhouse settings to assess their effectiveness.
• Report the development, progress and results of research to the project team.
• Prepare research reports, scientific publications and patent applications.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field, with hands-on experience in fertilizer manufacturing processes and formulation.
• Experience designing and characterizing simple and complex fertilizers.
• Good knowledge of techniques used to evaluate the physicochemical properties and physical quality of fertilizers.
• Ability to analyze the chemical composition of raw materials and finished products.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French.
