Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Behavioral Sciences & Market Adoption

About the role

The African Research Center on Air Quality and Climate (ARC_AIR) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to investigate behavioral, social, and market factors influencing the adoption of vertical farming technologies. The role combines interdisciplinary research with practical strategy development to accelerate sustainable food systems in Morocco and across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute interdisciplinary studies on consumer acceptance, stakeholder engagement, and market readiness for vertical farming.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify adoption barriers and drivers.
• Develop evidence‑based marketing, commercialization, and innovation strategies for vertical farming products.
• Collaborate with researchers in atmospheric science, engineering, and social sciences within ARC_AIR.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in Behavioral Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Consumer Behavior, Innovation Studies, Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Food Systems, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated research excellence with publications in reputable journals.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work across disciplinary boundaries.
