Postdoctoral Researcher – Climate Services for Agricultural Risk Reduction

About the role

The International Water Research Institute (IWRI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop user‑tailored climate services that support risk reduction and adaptation in agriculture across Morocco and the wider African region.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and select appropriate climate models for service development.
• Organise and lead user consultation meetings and workshops to define product requirements.
• Design, produce, and assess climate products and services tailored to agricultural stakeholders.
• Contribute to the set‑up and maintenance of a climate‑service platform.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in climatology, meteorology, agriculture, hydrology and related fields.
• Prepare scientific reports and presentations of findings.

Required profile

• PhD in agroclimatology, climate science, environmental engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong expertise in agroclimatology and climate services for agriculture, preferably with experience in Africa.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
