Postdoctoral Researcher – Computer-Aided Design of Sustainable Polymers

About the role

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat‑RC) at UM6P seeks a motivated postdoctoral researcher to lead a project on computer‑aided design and discovery of sustainable polymer materials. The work focuses on extracting experimental and computational data, building predictive models, and using data‑driven methods to optimise polymer properties.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, curate, and analyse experimental and computational datasets related to polymer materials.
• Develop and train neural‑network models to predict material properties and guide polymer design.
• Apply computational chemistry techniques to generate descriptors and support model development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to integrate modelling results into experimental workflows.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in materials science, chemistry, computer science, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with proven experience in neural‑network development.
• Demonstrated ability to work with computational chemistry data and data‑analysis pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive research mindset.
