Postdoctoral Researcher in Aquaculture Systems and Seaweed Monitoring

About the role

The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a motivated post‑doctoral researcher to lead projects on aquaculture systems and seaweed monitoring. This one‑year fixed‑term position offers the opportunity to work in a cutting‑edge research environment focused on sustainable agriculture challenges in Morocco and across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Assist with grant writing and develop new research directions.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students while supporting laboratory and hatchery operations.
• Organise and launch new research activities and contribute to overall laboratory management.
• Document and maintain standard operating procedures for all experimental protocols.

Required profile

• PhD in marine science, aquaculture, or a closely related field from a recognised university.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
• Experience conducting field work and managing laboratory or hatchery facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
