Product Specialist (Komatsu)

About the role

BIA Group sells, rents and provides after-sales services for equipment used in public works, mines, quarries and transport, operating in Europe, Africa and Asia. It is looking for a Product Specialist (Komatsu) to provide technical expertise on escalated breakdown and service cases, develop product knowledge and support BIA's after-market teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single point of contact between OEMs and BIA, follow up technical support issues and ensure compliance with OEM standards, tools and processes
• Maximise claim recovery and prepare and submit technical reports and statistics to BIA management
• Organise monthly reporting on technical support topics with OEMs and the after-market community, and perform remote or on-site investigations on major issues
• Support the deployment of digital solutions such as Smartfleet and OEM programmes
• Promote sharing of best practices across countries and escalate urgent or blocking issues to management
• Monitor shovel performance, analyse machine data via KOMTRAX Plus or other telemetry systems and recommend improvements
• Support clients and maintenance teams, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance plans are carried out correctly
• Recommend component replacements and overhauls based on condition monitoring and oil sampling, and advise on safety hazards and spare parts inventory

Required profile

• Mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer diploma or equivalent
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a technical engineer or in a similar position
• Proven experience with Komatsu KLTD machines (HD1500, D375, WD600)
• Knowledge of the KOMTRAX Plus and SMAP systems
• Fluent English; French is a plus

• MS Office, with mastery of Excel
• SAP is a plus
