Project Cost Controller

About the role

The Project Cost Controller will support the Project Economics Manager in managing and consolidating R&D and CAPEX expenses for engineering projects. You will ensure accurate expense tracking, forecasting, and reporting to meet the company’s financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project expense status, monitoring make/buy investments, launch costs, and supplier expenses.
• Synthesize global project expenses, integrating FTE and validation data provided by the Planning Manager.
• Retrieve cost data from CTPC/PCP costbook coordinators and produce multi‑year expense views with required splits.
• Guarantee data quality, consistency, and source integrity for expense synthesis.
• Build and update a Risks and Opportunities portfolio for expenses and lead corrective action plans.
• Contribute to defining robust expense targets during the project convergence phase.
• Manage the annual project budget, monitor actual spend versus budget, and produce monthly and annual forecasts.
• Coordinate action plans with Purchasing and Engineering to align with forecasts.
• Validate expense workflows for R&D and investment activities.
• Prepare the project for mass production, compile remaining expense lists, and transfer budgets to the serial‑life team.
• Deliver final expense status and lessons learned at project closure.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in project cost control, budgeting, or related financial functions.
