Project Economics Controller – R&D & CAPEX Management

About the role

ALTEN Morocco is seeking a Project Economics Controller (PEC) to manage and consolidate R&D and CAPEX expenditures for projects under the supervision of the Project Economics Manager. The role involves budgeting, forecasting and supporting the transition to serial production in the automotive sector.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate project expense status (R&D, CAPEX, make/buy, ED&D suppliers, PSO).
• Build a multi‑year spending vision and break‑downs (annual, per project, per region).
• Lead budget convergence actions with Engineering, GPSC and Purchasing.
• Manage the annual project budget (actual vs budget, monthly/annual forecasts, indirect costs).
• Control and validate R&D expense workflows and investment approvals.
• Prepare serial production hand‑over: compile residual expenses and transfer to the Serial Life Team.
• Document lessons learned and governance rules in VEMO/RD3C.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience with a Finance, Economics degree or Engineering school.
• Experience in an R&D/CAPEX controlling environment.
• Ability to work with technical organisations (R&D, Engineering, Finance, project teams).
• Experience in financial consolidation, variance analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of R&D and CAPEX budgeting (make/buy, launch costs, ED&D, PSO).
• Risk & opportunity portfolio management.
• Monthly and annual forecasting, tracking actual vs budget.
• Familiarity with the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel.
