Project Engineer - Water & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

An experienced engineer is sought to deliver high-quality technical projects in the water and wastewater treatment sector within the North & West Africa region. The role covers project execution, technical documentation, coordination with suppliers and partners, and customer-facing support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute engineering projects to high quality standards in water and wastewater treatment.
• Work with sales teams and customers from discovery through full project development.
• Lead project execution: customer requirements, contract negotiations, commercial terms, logistics, delivery and commissioning.
• Monitor equipment testing and assembly at supplier facilities or customer sites.
• Prepare technical documentation: data sheets, specifications, RFQs, drawings, installation sketches and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate with Project Support, Service Technicians and DBI partners (Design, Build & Install).
• Produce project documentation: Scope of Work, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Technical Sheets and Maintenance Protocols.
• Take part in trials and start-ups of new equipment technologies.
• Train and give technical support to sales teams and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies and submit weekly or monthly project status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of field experience.
• Strong communication skills with customers, sales teams, contractors and operations staff.
• Solid understanding of federal, state and local engineering regulations.
• Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation engineering.
• Willingness to travel extensively (50%+).
• Native local language plus fluent English and French.
