Project Safety Manager (PSM) – Automotive Industry

About the role

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consulting firm with offices in Morocco, is looking for a Project Safety Manager (PSM) for its automotive projects. The role coordinates project activities and ensures that safety requirements are taken into account throughout project execution, working with engineering, quality, safety and other functions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities, milestones, deliverables and action plans, and monitor progress while identifying and mitigating risks.
• Ensure alignment between project objectives, timelines and stakeholder expectations, and prepare regular project status reports.
• Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary teams and facilitate project meetings, following up on decisions and action items.
• Manage interfaces between internal teams, external partners and international stakeholders, and escalate risks, delays and critical issues promptly.
• Support the coordination and monitoring of project safety-related activities, ensuring safety requirements are considered during execution.
• Follow up on safety actions, risks and deliverables, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions where applicable.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and action trackers, and communicate regularly in English.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electronics or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management or project coordination, preferably 5 to 8 years.
• Proven experience with cross-functional teams and in an international working environment.
• Previous experience in the automotive industry and exposure to project safety management or safety coordination.
• Good command of English; B2 level preferred.

• Familiarity with structured project management methodologies and risk management processes.
• Project planning and execution, cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with proactive, autonomous and results-oriented approach.
