Purchasing Assistant

About the role

The Purchasing Assistant will support the procurement function by coordinating product sourcing, supplier relationships, own‑brand development, product information management, promotional activities and purchasing administration. The role also contributes to new product launches, supplier compliance, reporting and continuous process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and launch of own‑brand products, coordinating technical artwork and specifications with external consultants and suppliers.
• Source seasonal and all‑year‑round products from existing and new suppliers; research and approach new suppliers for product opportunities.
• Support new product development planning and operational activities to ensure successful launches.
• Organise and coordinate point‑of‑sale materials and display stands with external partners.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; organise meetings, support commercial negotiations and obtain required documentation and certifications.
• Prepare and coordinate supplier marketing packages and secure monthly/quarterly marketing contributions.
• Maintain product specification sheets, customer web‑portal information and ensure compliance documentation is up to date.
• Update product images and information on the company website; coordinate seasonal website launches with digital partners.
• Plan and upload promotional activities into AC Plus, coordinate brochure production schedules and lead weekly project meetings.
• Prepare monthly true gross‑profit reports by supplier and produce weekly company tracking reports.
