About the role
The Purchasing Engineer is responsible for estimating component costs, selecting suppliers, and managing procurement contracts throughout the development of new projects.
Key responsibilities
- Select suppliers through Pre‑SOC and SOC procedures and sign procurement contracts.
- Estimate component costs, perform Make‑or‑Buy analysis, negotiate prices, and lead VAVE activities to reduce project costs.
- Monitor development progress of project parts and ensure alignment with the project plan.
- Manage price changes, sign price agreements, and alert project managers to purchasing risks.
- Coordinate with SQA to monitor supplier schedules and resolve quality, logistics, and PPAP validation issues.
- Collect and implement VA/VE ideas from suppliers and internal departments, or hand them over to the commodity buyer after SOP.
- Adhere to HSE regulations and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
