Research Associate – Impact Evaluation in Education

About the role

The Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab (MEL) is seeking a Research Associate to support a randomized impact evaluation of an education technology program in Moroccan public schools. The role is based at the UM6P campus in Rabat and involves close collaboration with an international research team led by J‑PAL.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation of the field experiment, including scheduling and supervising field visits.
• Assist in designing and piloting survey instruments for baseline, pilot, and end‑line data collection.
• Manage data collection, cleaning, and storage to ensure high‑quality datasets for analysis.
• Support logistical arrangements with schools, teachers, and implementing partners.
• Document field activities and maintain project timelines and reporting.

Required profile

• Strong interest in impact evaluation, education research, or development economics.
• Ability to work independently and under supervision of senior researchers.
• Willingness to travel to schools across Morocco for field visits.
• Academic background suitable for preparing for graduate‑level studies in economics or quantitative education research.
