Senior Accountant

About the role

This Senior Accountant role supports the integrity and accuracy of accounting records, financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury activities and internal controls. It works closely with Finance leadership and contributes to accounting operations, tax compliance, treasury management, reporting, audits and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities in line with accounting standards and company policies.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items; review accounting entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Support management and statutory financial reports, and assist in preparing and submitting VAT and other tax declarations.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting and tax requirements, and coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Monitor tax reconciliations, provisions and audit requirements, and monitor supplier accounting and Accounts Payable aging.
• Support Procure-to-Pay controls, prepare cash position reports and support cash forecasting.
• Perform bank reconciliations, coordinate banking documentation and treasury operations, and maintain accounting documentation.
• Support finance projects, system enhancements, automation and process standardization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance or Audit.
• Good command of French and English, spoken and written.
• Experience in a multinational environment, SSC model or audit firm is a plus; professional certifications such as CPA, DSCG or equivalent are an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory accounting requirements.
• Hands-on experience in month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience coordinating statutory audits and tax compliance.
• ERP systems, preferably SAP; experience with Shared Service Centers is an advantage.
