Senior Actuary - Life & Health Reserving (North Asia)

About the role

SCOR's North Asia Life & Health Reserving team is based in Seoul and Singapore, but this role is based in the actuarial hub in Casablanca and reports to the Head of L&H Reserving, North Asia. It focuses on delivering IFRS 17 and Solvency II results for SCOR's business in Korea and Japan. As a senior member, you will lead key valuation activities, mentor junior colleagues, take ownership of change initiatives such as evolving reporting frameworks and driving automation, and support the Head of L&H North Asia Reserving across valuation, stress testing and assumption reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Review and produce IFRS, Solvency II and local statutory results for the North Asia market
• Analyse changes across reporting bases and review experience analysis and assumptions
• Liaise with the local Technical Accounting team, Pricing and IFM to review baseline estimates
• Lead the actuarial audit process and relationships with local auditors
• Maintain high-quality documentation and controls for reporting processes
• Review existing processes and tools to identify opportunities to streamline and automate
• Provide quality output and value-adding insights, and liaise with stakeholders in Singapore, Cologne, Paris and Dublin
• Ensure Prophet user acceptance testing is performed well with appropriate documentation

Required profile

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in insurance or reinsurance in a reserving or actuarial modelling context
• Qualified or part-qualified actuary, or bachelor's degree in actuarial science, maths, engineering or an equivalent quantitative field
• Strong understanding of Life and Health (re)insurance and reserving practices
• Experience leading projects, workstreams and/or teams in a global context
• Fluent English speaking

Required skills

• Knowledge of actuarial modelling platforms (Prophet, AXIS or equivalent); Prophet expertise is a definite advantage
• Programming tools such as Python or SQL are an advantage
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
