Senior Associate, Fundraising and Investor Relations

About the role

The Senior Associate will be an investor‑facing member of Africa50’s Fundraising & Investor Relations team, leading day‑to‑day engagement with investors, shareholders and strategic partners while supporting fundraising execution and due‑diligence processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily engagement with assigned investors, shareholders and strategic partners, ensuring conversations progress and actions are delivered.
• Develop engagement plans based on counterparties’ priorities and decision‑making processes, and participate in senior‑level meetings.
• Own defined fundraising and investor‑relations workstreams from planning through due‑diligence, negotiation support and conversion.
• Oversee investor requests, DDQs and due‑diligence processes, coordinating internal teams for timely, high‑quality responses.
• Prepare briefing notes, investor materials and follow‑up communications, translating feedback into recommendations for senior leadership.
• Direct and review work produced by analysts and interns, providing guidance and quality control.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Investment Management, International Development or related field; MBA is a plus.
• 6‑8 years of experience in fundraising, investor relations, private equity, infrastructure investment, development finance, asset management, investment banking or consulting.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships across public‑sector/government and commercial/institutional investors.
• Strong commercial judgment, influencing skills and ownership mindset.
• Excellent written communication, synthesis and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and French.
