Senior DevOps Developer

About the role

Dayforce, a global human capital management (HCM) company, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep experience designing, building and optimizing scalable cloud infrastructure and managing CI/CD pipelines for mission-critical enterprise applications. The role leads automation of cloud environments, improves system reliability and optimizes deployment workflows across globally distributed systems, combining hands-on cloud engineering with collaboration across software engineering, data and security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, highly available cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS or comparable platforms) and Infrastructure-as-Code environments with Terraform, CDKTF, AWS CDK or equivalent.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate provisioning, monitoring and scaling, and implement blue/green, canary, rolling and zero-downtime deployments.
• Set up observability (logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting) and lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Implement resilience strategies such as auto-scaling, load balancing, redundancy, backups and disaster recovery.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, integrate security scanning, vulnerability assessment, secrets management and compliance checks, and align with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and other standards.
• Lead DevOps initiatives across engineering, product, data and security teams, mentor others and share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a computer science or related field.
• 1-5 years of progressive DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering experience, preferably in enterprise-scale SaaS or high-growth tech environments.
• Proven experience designing, deploying and supporting production cloud infrastructure, and leading DevOps or cloud migration projects.
• Experience with highly available, distributed systems in production.

Required skills

• AWS and/or Azure or GCP; Terraform, CDKTF, AWS CDK, CloudFormation; Docker, Kubernetes, ECS or EKS.
• CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions; Linux and scripting with Python or Bash.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry.
• Cloud networking, IAM, least-privilege access, containerized and microservices architectures, and cloud cost management.
